Purpose and Outcomes
The purpose of Positive Exchange Program is to help you identify your work interests and job skills and set you on the path toward finding a job that's right for you. The Program is an intensive four session workshop that will equip you with necessary skills to become a value-added employee such as:
Ø Self-Management Skills
Ø Effective Job Search
Ø Marketing Yourself & Resume Writing
Ø Interviewing Tips
Whether you are unemployed, underemployed, need to update your skills or are new to the job market, participates will learn how and where to look for employment; what to say/ask during an interview and how to effectively network. Using interactive exercises will help them develop a resume that highlights individual skills, knowledge and abilities– a resume designed to elicit a call for an interview. They will learn how to confidently convince employers how you can put “transferable skills” to work for them.
Technology has changed the rules of job hunting. The techniques you used to find your last job may be of little value now. Participates will learn how to find job leads through networking, and the best, most current ways to use the Internet to speed their search for work. A job application or resume is often an employer’s first impression of you. It's your first opportunity to “sell” your skills and background to employers. Participates will learn valuable tips on how to complete applications and write resumes that stand apart from the crowd.
Our goal is to equip the participates with the concepts and strategies of preparing for job interviews and developing the ability to organize their thoughts, and present themselves a strong candidate, soften negative events in their work history, and answer difficult questions. This important workshop prepares the participates to interview with confidence and increase their chances of getting the job.
